Makhashi is a historical village in Lower Svaneti, located 42 kilometers from Lentekhi at an altitude of 1 480 meters above sea level.

The village is characterized by examples of traditional Svan architecture, and you can see old Svan houses with Machubs, also known as “Lushnu Koor”. To the east, a little further from the village, is the Makhashi Archangel Church, which is also a medieval historical monument.
