Founder of Alpine Nectar
I grew up surrounded by majestic alpine meadows of Lower Svaneti, where beekeeping has been one of the traditional areas the locals engaged in. Working alongside bees has amazed me since the childhood and observing that this craft was slowly disappearing, as younger generation was migrating elsewhere for studies and higher income, I set as my goal to retain and pass it to generations to come.
I started beekeeping 35 years ago and gradually gained experience. In today's world, where the environment is polluted and village produce is no longer as "clean" as it used to be in my childhood, I started to realise the importance of maintaining Bio-production and gaining Bio-certification, so that my customers could feel reassured in products they consume. Although I have always used Bio-approaches in beekeeping and honey production, for reassurance, I embarked on a lengthy road of undergoing Bio-certification, which Alpine Nectar has successfully obtained. Additionally, I implemented HACCP standards in the production process and now I can proudly say that our honey responds to all requirements of Bio and safely produced honey.
